Well this is the style we play in Chinatown not the regular Vietnam way where aces are highest and there can be tie hands etc...so instead of ace being highest it's 2♠️ the highest card just like in Big2...

We keep score with a score sheet or just paying cash or chips after each hand...the length of time playing is decided before hand how many hours or minutes etc or it can also be decided by how many hands or rounds are played...we always decide before starting so nobody can cheat by quiting as soon as they get ahead etc...

We like to play cash payouts after every hand so the first thing is to decide how much to play for and same as Big2 it's a dollar amount per point...so it can be pennies per point or dollars per point...it's easier to calculate using round numbers so either $1 per point or $10 per point or $100 per point is easiest...and also we decide if it'll be everyone against the dealer or everyone against everyone...everyone against the dealer is easiest where everyone takes turns being dealer but some like everyone vs everyone too since winning hands will collect from everyone not just the dealer...

So to explain how we usually played growing up the easy way was to use Mah Jong麻雀 style rounds圈...so we'll set the game at 1 round圈 at $1/point everyone taking turns for 3 hands each as dealer...

So see who gets to be dealer and choose where to sit first it's same as Big2...everyone cuts the deck and highest card picks their seat first then 2nd highest etc...

Now that all players get seated the player that cut the highest card is the East東 seat and will be dealer first for 3 hands then past the deal on if he doesn't continue winning after the 3 hands since dealers winning past 3 hands get to keep dealing...

The dealer shuffles and offers the deck to be cut then before dealing will cut the deck and show the cut card to determine who gets first card like in Big2...

Once all the cards are dealt the players pick up and set up their cards...once the players set their cards up they put their cards face down on table to indicate they are done then the dealer picks up his cards and sets then up...once the dealer is done he compares his hand to each to the players and to determine who wins or loses against each player paying or collecting each time...if after 3 hands the dealer has made a profit he continues being dealer until he loses a hand...then passes the deal on and once the deal goes around back to the dealer that is the end of the round...to keep track of the rounds the Mah Jong wind風 counter can be used as the puck...

We calculate are hands like this:

Automatic winning hands are...

Green Dragon青龍 is all 13 cards of same suit = 52 points

Dragon一條龍 is no pairs ace to king = 13 points

All Black/All Red/3 Flushes/3 Straights = 3 points

Extra bonus points for non automatic hands are...

Straight Flush = 5 points...10 points if in middle

4 of a kind = 4 points...8 if in middle

3 of a kind on top = 3 points

Full House in middle = 2 points

Side bets are of course allowed so that the people watching can bet on the hands too🍻
