The Pick: My 75 Dime winner is the Houston Astros
The Line: The current line is +120 at the majority of books in Vegas and offshore as of 9:45 AM EST. Please specify Valdez and Ohtani at the time of wager. Be sure to shop around for the best line available.
My Analysis
They are going to beat them again.
After their 18-1 destruction of LA on Friday, the Houston Astros send their very best to the mound to make it 2 straight over the boys from La La Land.
And if he just does what he has done all year long and his teammates just do what they have done all year long, they will win again today.
Framer Valdez has been arguably the hottest pitcher in baseball over the last 10 starts.
He is 8-0 with 2 no decisions and Houston has won all 10.
In this run he has allowed more than 2 earned runs only once, May 18th at Texas, when he went 7 innings allowing 6 hits but getting the 4-3 win.
Of these last 10 starts 4 have come on the road and he has won all 4 beating the Brewers 9-1, the aforementioned Rangers, Pirates 8-2 and A's 11-4.
Valdez has faced the Dodgers three times in his career, twice in 2020 and got hit hard and then 4 years later at home he was untouchable.
We're talking 6 1/3 innings allowing 4 hits, striking out 10, walking 2 in a 5-0 Houston win.
Now comes Ohtani.
Scratch Ohtani as having a say in this game. He is only going 2 innings.
So now the Dodger bullpen is on the clock and as hot as the Astros bats are and especially with Valdez pitching, I just don't see Houston losing today.
They are 9-2 their last 11 overall and 11-6 their last 17 on the road.
Since losing 2 out of 3 at Tampa Bay, this Houston team over their last 13 series has won 11 of them and going 2-2 in the other two against the A's and Tampa.
Bottom line: They lock up another series win with their best on the hill.
Give me the road team in Hollywood tonight.
